Selecting a Photographer for Your Corporate Event

In running your event planning endeavour, you need to have a network of vendors so that you can tap the appropriate provider when the situation, or in this case, the client, calls for it. Amongst your contacts, lensmen are amongst many who have different specialisations. Those that do weddings are among the numerous ones while those that cater to corporate affairs are not as many.

In selecting a photographer for a company-backed party or gathering, be it of a promotional nature or just a recreational one, you need one who is keen on giving thoroughly professional services, is well-organised and is familiar with basic business etiquette and culture.

Having all the right photographic equipment is a must but is not the only requirement. The lensman should also have the artistic skills and the ability to make sound decisions in the midst of unexpected events. He or she should be able to adapt quickly and move promptly when he or she needs to.

A good corporate photographer must be able to communicate well and understand the needs of the client. He or she must be able to get the shots required and provide the copies of the images taken in the right format.

Check the kind of gear the prospective shutterbug has. A digital camera with a high ISO of up to 800 is a must since the subjects tend to be moving in certain directions and zoom lenses.

Check the professional charges of the photographers you have in mind and see whether these are fair enough judging the experience, ability, skill and gear that the person uses.

A good way to know whether you have the appropriate person to capture images at your next corporate event is by checking his portfolio and past work. The shots must be of good composition, simple and worthy of including in publicity releases.
